Important Information on the Connected Patient Challenge

Qualifying submissions will be judged by a team of experts from Boston Scientific, M2D2, Massachusetts eHealth Institute and medical device and digital health industries.  Semifinalists and Finalists will be chosen through several rounds of judging.  Five finalists will pitch to celebrity judges and a live audience in Boston, MA.  Up to three winners will be chosen based on judges scoring and announced at the live event. One winner will be from the Digital Health challenge and the other from the Peripheral Vascular and Oncology Challenge. An additional MeHI Spotlight Award will be given to one of the finalists.

Digital Health Startup companies that are pre-revenue.  Academicians or individuals with an embodied concept/working prototype that addresses a clearly articulated clinical need. Review the contest rules for more details.

Yes, you can update your submission until the submission period closes.

You can find the general information on what your application should in the Accelerator App platform. If you want to wow the judges and stand out from the competition, make sure to attend the Connected Patient Challenge virtual info session on May 2nd!

Entry is open only to Startup Entities (an Individual or Team that on date of Entry has (a) received less than $5 million in funding; and (b) has earned less than $500,000 in annual revenue).

The following are not eligible to enter the Challenge if, during the Challenge, they were or become:

  • Employees of the Challenge sponsor Boston Scientific or Challenge host M2D2
  • Employees of companies or entities affiliated with Boston Scientific or M2D2
  • Any vendors of companies or entities affiliated with Boston Scientific or M2D2
  • Any Direct Family Members (parent, son, daughter or sibling) of any such employees
  • Challenge Judges or their Direct Family Members
  • Anyone involved in designing, developing, judging, sponsoring, or administering the Challenge (or their direct family members)
  • A country on the list of designated countries of State Sponsored Terrorism, as contained in the U.S. Department of State website
  • Any jurisdictions where the Challenge may be prohibited

 

 

 

Yes. The fact that an Entrant won another contest is not a barrier to entry.

There are no entry fees. In final phase of the Challenge, finalists will be asked to travel to Boston to make a live presentation. Finalists will be expected to arrange round trip transportation and housing in Boston.

Semifinalists: All semifinalists have the opportunity to pitch to Boston Scientific and industry experts.

Finalists: All finalists receive 3 hours of pitch coaching from M2D2.

Digital Health Challenge Winners: $15,000 of in-kind services from Boston Scientific and a place in the M2D2 IMPACT Accelerator.

Peripheral Vascular Challenge Winner: $15,000 in kind services from Boston Scientific and a place in the M2D2 IMPACT Accelerator.

All finalists will be eligible for a Spotlight Award from MeHI, a cash prize of $10,000.
